Social Skills Group
Our Social Skills Group combines medical treatment and social skills development at one convenient location in Tucker GA. It also provides a wonderful chance for kids to learn the essential skills needed to navigate the complex dynamics of friendships and the social world.
As Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists, many of our patients – and some of our closest loved ones – are children possessing ADHD, Asperger’s or Sensory Processing Disorder.
These little ones struggle with some of the following:
- Making friends
- Listening to others
- Keeping their hands to themselves
- Picking up on social cues
Feelings of Hopelessness
Many of our parents felt hopeless. Their children were not “fitting in”, even though, their symptoms had been stabilized by our medical treatment plans. For this reason, they asked us if we could provide some sort of “hands on training” to help their children better navigate the social arena.
For this reason, we helped develop a Social Skills Group that would work as a complement to the Psychiatric consultation services that we provide each day. A program that would help your child whether or not you decided to use our Medical services.
Getting the Right Help
- Struggle socially
- Demonstrate impulsive behavior
- Lack the ability to focus
- Do not show respect to others
We wanted our groups to be informative, fun and interactive. Our medical and clinician team will help coach your child to learn from other children and apply learnings from course work and/or medical sessions. His/her classmates will be similar in age and need so they can have fun, while working together on specific social skills development.
Our Goal is to Help your Child Work Well With Others
- Struggle socially
- Demonstrate impulsive behavior
- Lack the ability to focus
- Do not show respect to others
Our program is a fee for service offering; thus, please call our office to obtain cost and start time information. You can also register by submitting an email request on the contact page of this website.
