Meet Our Founders
Keisha Brown MD, FAPA is the co-founder of WellMed. Dr. Brown is a Psychiatrist who has practiced within the Greater Atlanta area for almost 15 years. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Adult Psychiatry. Dr. Brown was also granted Fellow status by the American Psychiatric Association “APA” for her dedication to the psychiatric profession.
Dr. Brown obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Spelman College and her Medical Degree from the University of Louisville. She completed her Adult Psychiatric Residency training at the University of Maryland; and her Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Fellowship at Emory University located in Atlanta GA. Dr. Brown served as Chief Resident in her last year of training; a position reserved for outstanding resident doctors possessing excellent clinical skills and strong leadership potential.
After her studies, Dr. Brown served as a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist for Douglas Outpatient Services; Clinical Director and later Medical Director for outpatient facilities in Macon GA. Returning to Atlanta in 2007, Dr. Brown formed her own practice City to City Psychiatric Services, Inc. A private entity that focuses on how the mind and body connect to shape our quality of life.
A wife and mother of two, Dr. Brown has worked with numerous families and groups struggling to balance their life and work, while overcoming burnout, depression, anxiety and other stress-related concerns. Her holistic approach to medicine combines therapeutic techniques with medication management as necessary.
Dr. Brown co-founded WellMed because she sought to work with other Psychiatric Professionals who shared her medical philosophy. Physicians who take the time to truly know their patients; and by doing so, create a friendly Doctor-Patient relationship which serves as a platform form sustain Wellness.
